Back to Uni

The picture featured today is of the impressive station at St Pancras and is conveying the rush of modern day life particularly as seen here with London commuters. Being there is a really positive experience and makes me want even more to move down there as soon as possible. To convey the movement I obviously had to increase the length of time the shutter was open for, however as it was so bright in the station I couldn't decrease the aperture enough to make the image have a normal histogram. When I edited the pictures on the train back however I loved the effect and particularly in this image. So good to see all my house mates today and am feeling very positive with getting down to revision after this weekend.

Rest in Peace

Today was a very emotional day for myself and my family with the funeral of my granddad who passed away just over a week ago. After struggling with cancer for over a year he was in a way relieved to pass away, have no more pain and be at peace. It was a beautiful and very moving service in a packed Horsted Keynes church, it was so touching to realise just how many peoples lived he influenced and how many people had benefited from a truly amazing man. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him and I just hope that he is now at peace and also pray my Nan will manage well without him. I decided for a fairly simple picture on this day and as I have brought a new camera for this project that I first used today I felt it an appropriate image for the day.

If at first you don't succeed

With a free day at home and the prospect of nice weather I decided to head down to Hove to watch the first days play between Sussex and Leicstershire and take some pictures. Over the course of the day 17 wickets fell as Leicster where dismissed for 114 and I took over 500 pictures during the day. Looking through in the evening for my photo of the day I couldn't find the perfect picture until I came across this one, ironically the very last picture I took! It really showed me to continue to the end however long the road ahead may be and this picture personifies this to me... It is also in a way an odd choice seeing as so little batting and run scoring took place in the day to include a picture of a bowler scoring runs late on. Rana Naved took 4 wickets in the morning, and as I am writing this a day late, now know he went on to score a century the next morning and help put Sussex in a powerful position. A glorious day in the sunshine and really beginning to get back into the swing of things with my photography.

Exams looming

After a very long lie in spent the day catching up on television from the past week and then after receiving my exam timetable proceeded to draw up a timetable. I'm not sure if I'm happy or already stressed with how much time I have left before exams begin?! I have 6 full days of hefty revision on each subject and if I get down to work as soon as I'm back this should be enough time to come away with the grades that I want and know I can achieve.

Pipkin

After a long day of travelling was really nice to be back at home and chilling with the family and dog. Have decided to stay at home for a few days and be with my family before my Granddads funeral on Wednesday and then back to University on Thursday.

Birthday

Had an awesome day today, the day of my 21st birthday! Also the first day of my 365 project, we are seen here looking at the pictures of the night before and cooking a barbecue. Was another great day in Belgium and received some amazing presents from my friends, who truely are awesome amazing people. Back on the road again tomorrow and back to University life soon and the excitement of another exam period...

Project 365

Just before turning 21 I have been doing a lot of thinking and decided to start documenting my life through the medium of photography. I am going to use this blog to document my 22nd year both through photography and my thoughts.
